Deniece W's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

2 sticks(1 cup) butter, softened
1 cup oil (I used canola)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
5 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 lb chocolate chips (I used Hershey's)

Cream butter, oil and sugars. Add eggs, vanilla (and almond ext). Add dry ingredients (I did 1 cup of flour at a time). Add chocolate chips. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Best when underdone and cooled completely. ( I never wait...I love chocolate chip cookies and cold milk)

This is my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe too. In fact, since I am in Arizona, I just claim it as my own recipe now.... hee hee.

These are really amazing cookies and they bake up so nice. It was so unusual to make a cookie with canola oil in it, but they cooked up so nice and fluffy. I loved the almond extract in it. The only change I made was to reduce the sugars by a combined total of a cup and a fourth and the cookies were still plenty sweet, even my daughter thought so. Thanks for sharing this "secret" recipe!

Pink Posts - How much of each sugar did you use? And did the cookies maintain a good texture?
